Yes - if you’re using the Shopify POS integration, you can process refunds directly from Shopify for both online and in-store purchases.
This is often easier because:
- You can search for the order by customer name, order number, or product
- The refund is linked directly to the Shopify order, so your records stay in sync
- You can refund even if the customer is not in-store (the refund goes back to their card online)
Refund with the customer in-store
- Find the order in Shopify POS or the Shopify admin.
- Tap “Refund” and select the items or enter the amount.
- Choose the card refund option.
- Ask the customer to tap or insert their card on the terminal to complete the refund.
Refund without the customer in-store
- Find the order in the Shopify admin.
- Tap “Refund” and enter the amount.
- The refund will be processed back to the original card automatically - no card needs to be presented.
Refunds processed through Shopify will also reflect on your Stitch dashboard and settlement reports.
